Will I be able to have my phone?
Clients are not permitted to have their cell phones during detox; however, they will be able to make a “safe call” upon arrival. Generally speaking, phone calls are not permitted while a client is in detox, and only under certain circumstances may a call be facilitated by the client’s therapist, and at their discretion only. While clients are also not permitted to have their cell phones at a residential level of care, they will be permitted a certain number of calls per week. Clients are permitted to have their cell phones once they have entered our PHP/IOP with housing program, however, restrictions may apply and cell phones may be confiscated by staff when deemed appropriate or necessary.
Will I be allowed to have visitors?
Clients are not permitted to have visits during their stay in our detox facility to ensure client privacy and safety. Once a client transitions into treatment at one of our other centers, visits and passes can begin! Clients in our residential facility are allotted weekly visits lasting one hour on either Friday or Saturday. Once a client has entered our PHP/IOP with housing program, Network Passes may begin after two weeks. Network Passes are permitted based on client progress and include an off-property visitation period with sober support.
Can I have items dropped off to me?
Clients may have items dropped off, or mailed into them as often as they’d like once they have completed detox. To ensure the safety of our clients, any items dropped off or mailed in will be subject to a search. While drop-offs are not permitted during detox stays, all client needs will be met as staff sees fit.
How long will my stay be?
Each client entering our treatment program will be assigned a care team and the length of their stay will be determined on a case by case basis. All influencing factors will be taken into consideration, and individualized care plans will be devised.
Can I smoke?
Yes! At Midwest Recovery Center, clients are permitted to smoke. Clients are permitted to use a variety of tobacco products, as long as they bring these products in unopened (for example vape juice, chewing tobacco, cigarettes, and loose tobacco).
What do I need to bring with me?
We want nothing more than for our clients to feel at home while they are in treatment. We do not have any specific clothing restrictions and you will have easy access to laundry facilities at each building. The amount of clothing you bring in will be at your discretion, however, we do ask that you bring in only what you feel you will need and limit yourself to two bags. We find that the more you bring in, the harder it is for you to keep track of what you have, and Midwest Recovery Center is not responsible for any lost items. For client safety and consideration, all personal hygiene items brought in need to be unopened and alcohol-free and we ask that you limit your products to the essentials (shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap/body wash, toothpaste). Razors are not permitted to be brought in but will be available at your request. Clients who wish to have makeup, hair products, and other related items, may be permitted to do so once they have completed detox and moved on to the next level of care. Cell phones may be brought in but will be locked up while you are in detox and then returned to you when you reach the appropriate level of care. This also applies to laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices. If there is something specific you would like to bring with you that you’re unsure of, please feel free to ask our admissions team!
Should I bring money?
While clients are allowed to bring money with them into treatment, we ask that you keep in mind that we do not monitor our clients’ money. We understand that you may need to purchase items during your stay with us and we are happy to make sure that you are able to do so. Our staff members may take scheduled trips to the store as designated by each building, or level of care. Each client is responsible for their own money and Midwest Recovery Center is not responsible for any lost money.
Will I receive help with transitioning into sober living?
During your stay at Midwest Recovery Center, you’ll be assigned a case manager. This person will be there with you every step of the way and will see to it that you are safely transitioned into a sober living facility when the time comes. Our case managers are equipped with both the resources and the experience to ensure that you have a plan that works for you. Our goal is to provide you with the tools necessary to maintain your sobriety and ensure your success in the community! If transitioning into sober living is what you need, we will be happy to help you find somewhere that works for you.
Where will I go for my intake?
Midwest Recovery Center welcomes you to our Centralized Intake office located at 7540 New West Road, Toledo, OH 43617. Here we will complete your intake and one of our staff members will then take you where you need to go.
