- Letter Writing: This letter is usually written for the person writing it. You can be creative with who it is from and for your past, present, or future self. This is a great way to think about how other people perceive you and write something positive about yourself. You can share a line, quote, or paragraph with the group for inspiration.
- Emotions as Objects: This group therapy game requires you to think of different emotions and how they make you feel. On a piece of paper, draw an object or place that makes you think of each emotion. An example could be comparing happiness to the sun or anger to fire. The group can then compare and contrast how different objects make them feel.
- Motivation Board: Use a poster board or a piece of paper, draw pictures, or write words or quotes inspiring you. Each person can add things that motivate them, things that make them happy, and goals they want to achieve. This is a good way to encourage each other to work towards their goals.
- Two Truths and a Lie: This is an easy way to help the group learn about and connect. Each person thinks of two truths, and one lie about themselves, and the others have to figure out which is the lie.
- Emotions Charades: The idea of this group therapy activity is to show the group how it can be easy to misread emotions by just looking at a person. One person is given an emotion that they have to express through facial expressions. The group has to figure out what emotion they are feeling. This activity is meant to show how important it is to talk about your feelings to avoid confusing others.
